Complete our Piggy Adoption Consideration Form
Once we receive your completed application, a follow-up phone call or email will be made to you to review the application and ask or answer any questions and discuss any concerns. Please remember that adopting a piggy is a commitment of 15-18 years so we do not take any shortcuts in processing our applications.
We are committed to help control the over population and production of unwanted pigs and protecting the quality of this tiny breed’s standards. As the potential owner of a Tiny Piggies 4 You piglet, it is important you read and agree with the terms and conditions of our sales/adoption policy outlined below prior to submitting a Piglet Adoption application.
By filling out the application, you will confirm that you have researched and have become well informed of the responsibilities of owning a mini pig. Furthermore, it will attest that you have read and agreed with the terms and conditions of Tiny Piggies 4 You policy.
All adoption request applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. We reserve the right to refuse the sale of a piglet/pig at any given time and solely at our discretion. Once the application has been approved, the prospective piggy owner will be notified via e-mail and will receive confirmation on the availability of the chosen piglet(s) on the adoption request application.
In the case that the piglet chosen has been sold, we will notify you of the piglets that are currently available. At that time, you may choose to select another piglet or possibly wait for an upcoming litter.
All piglets/pigs are guaranteed to be in good health and free from visible signs of infections, contagious or communicable diseases at the time of pick-up.
Piglets will receive their first and second deworming treatment prior to leaving for their new homes. All male piglets will be neutered and female piglets will not be spayed before they leave for their new home. Our female piggies are too tiny to be spayed until they are approximately 4-5 months old. Veterinarians use criteria for spaying based on weight and/or age of the piglet.
In the comment section of the adoption application, please let us know what piglet you would like to have! If the piglet is not yet weaned from Mom Pig, please be prepared to pay a non-refundable deposit of $100.00- we will let you know when the piglet is eating pig pellets, drinking water from a bowl, and fully weaned from Mom Pig. We do NOT sell our piggies before they are weaned. Once they are weaned, we notify you that your piglet is ready for pick-up, you will have 7 days to pick up your piglet.
Please pick up your piglet within 7 days or a boarding fee of $20.00 per day will need to be paid. If the little piglet is not picked up within 14 days after notification that piglet is ready for pick up, your deposit will be forfeited and we will find new owners (unless there is prior, approved coordination with us).
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept Paypal or Credit Cards which adds consumer protection.
You will a receipt upon full payment.
WHEN DO I PICK OUT MY NEW PIGLET?
New owners that are local may pick out their new piggy in person. When you arrive to pick up or pick out your piggy, you will be outside. Please dress for the current weather outside. Please ensure/verify your $100.00 deposit fee is with you or has been received by us.
WHAT DO WE NEED TO BRING WHEN WE PICK UP OUR NEW FAMILY MEMBER?
We recommend you bring a kennel for your new baby to travel in especially if you are the driver and no one else is with you. New piglets also like to ride home on the laps of their new families. If the piglet gets a little nervous from all the changes, they will sometimes poop so bring some paper towels and a trash bag in case there is a mess and/or their litter box with non-cedar wood chips or newspaper in there. You will know if they need to be placed in the litter box because they will start getting up from a nice warm lap and act a little hyper and start looking around.
Please bring some blankets when you come to get new piglet - old, used ones are just fine - they LOVE their blankets and will feel much more secure if you wrap them up in one of them!
DO YOU SHIP YOUR PIGGIES?
No we do not ship our piggies. We want to meet all the new parents of our piggies. So you must be in driving distance of Charlotte, NC.
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO VISIT/SEE THE PIGLETS? IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Yes, you may visit our piglets at our piggy palace.
Please e-mail email@example.com or call 704-517-5953 or 704-993-0738 to make an appointment.
MAY WE RETURN OUR PIGLET?
A 50% refund will be given for any piglet that is returned within 3 days of the original adoption/purchase date. If after 3 days you must rehome your piglet, please contact us first. We would like to have the pig back. We do not want our piglets to end up in shelters, sanctuaries or rescues. Please do your research. They are very sensitive animals that get very upset when their family no longer wants them.
